Interview with moumi
Yang Du is available at supersweetshop.com
We’ve just cut the ribbon on our new digital shop and everyone’s invited!
Since 2007, it’s been our mission to source the best ready-to-wear brands from around the world, stocking far afield as Hong Kong, (Yang Du), New York (threeASFOUR), Finland (IVANAhelsinki) and homegrown Sophie Hulme. Now in 2009, we’ve acquired a stock list of exclusive alternative brands, including Opening Ceremony, SteveJ & YoniP, Alexandre Herchcovitch and Spijkers en Spijkers.
Not forgetting our editorial paramours, we’ve dedicated a section of the website to our new magazine ZOO – an editorial jungle featuring all the best in fashion, art and music, kind of like we always did, except this time all rolled into one!
Here at SUPERSWEET, everybody wins. We’re not super sweet for nothing! As we always used to quip in the old days… “SUPERSWEET – it’s where the fun starts!”
If you would like more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
It’s been 6 years since 80s/90s style bible The Face folded, but its pop-culture legend lives on, echoing down through the minds of lemon-haired Donovan agitators until today.
Reviving its Y2K Fashion Special Edition cover, is this T-shirt by LalaLove hot off the press in 100% cotton worth an easy £22. The original came in a vacuum-sealed bag with 5 pin badges inside and the slogan SPUNK scrawled unbecomingly across it.
Celebrate 2 decades of style trends, pioneering photography, fashion, art, music and an archive of ‘finger-on-the-pulse’ youth culture by wearing its iconic cover with pride.
To kick things off, the T-shirts are stocked in our SHOP, but you can have a go at winning one in any size you want simply by following @SUPERSWEET on Twitter and retweet (RT) this post. The winner will be picked at random by our office cat Princess Michael.
R.I.P The Face – lest we forget.

Leaving Circus is the ultimate summer wardrobe collection by IVANAhelsinki – an independent art and fashion brand bringing together Slavic melancholy and pure Scandinavian moods. It balances between bright arctic summer nights and endless winter sadness in a parade of performing ponies. Leaving Circus harks back to the surrealist designs of Elsa Schiaparelli’s notorious 1938 Circus Collection. Fanciful buttons, striking colours, precise tailoring and girlish pleats offer a whimsical, vibrant alternative to an enchanting summer solace wardrobe, transcending fashion silhouettes.
With all this on offer, you’ll want to join the circus, not leave it…
Fans of IVANAhelsinki’s Leaving Circus collection include Juliet Lewis and Beth Ditto.
It’s summer time! And all Spring/Summer 10 collections are up to 30% off! But just to make this a little more special, we’re considering the British wildlife too…
So to coincide with our Summer Sale, SUPERSWEET is donating 10% of every item marked with Wildlife Aid logo in the sale to Wildlife Aid – a charity of vital importance for our furry little friends, and feathery ones too.
Some of our best loved animals are suffering in decline and as man-made activities take their toll, Wildlife Aid works around the clock to rescue and rehabilitate up to 20,000 wildlife incidents a year, ranging from traffic accidents to cases of deliberate cruelty. Thanks to the care and dedication of its volunteers, the charity’s success rate is extremely high.
If you love animals, clothes, or even clothes with animals on them, we can all help keep these precious creatures in purrfect health. Choosing to dress on the wild side not only supports our beloved animal kingdom, but kits you out in some really cool clothes too! Choose between luxury off-beat labels Spijkers en Spijkers, Opening Ceremony, Atelier 1, IVANAhelsinki, Mafia, LaLaLove and Noble Youth.
With prints in leopard and snakeskin; stag head jewelry, wolf Ts and much more, you’ll want to dig in your paws before the rest of the pack close in…

SUPERSWEET now stocks jewelry by Sunday’s Best Autumn/Winter 2010!
Praise be to Sunday’s Best! The Brooklyn-based jewelry house knows exactly how to dress a lady in her comely best, bedecking fingers, ear-lobes, wrists and necks in “soft understated beauty and painstaking detail” (Art Pulse).
Within two years of launching, designers Sophia Keleta and Samira Chung have charmed their way into cult status with a unique selection of handcrafted beauties. The duo’s top selling friendship bracelets are rendered in oxidized gold and silver, cast with a friendship knot inspiring us with adolescent nostalgia! Pendants become family heirlooms, suggestive of the beauty in overlooked objects.
Influences span the exotic—eastern patterns and heirlooms, vintage textiles, and Persian tapestries— infusing Sunday’s Best jewelry with intricate shapes, patterns and cut-out details.
With a palette of gold, oxidized silver, bronze and vermeil that also incorporates suede, Sunday’s Best straddles femininity and masculinity with jewelry that is delicate, but not dainty; possessing a soft, understated beauty, but also a dash of edge. Sophia and Samira have set out to create special, treasured pieces that will invoke the very pride and confidence one feels when donning their “Sunday’s Best.”
Sunday’s Best has featured in Teen Vogue, Observer Magazine, Lucky, Art Pulse and The Fashion Issue. Prices start from £60.
